R. C. Childers was one of the early Western pioneers in the study of the Pāḷi language, and wrote one of the first and best of the Pali-English dictionaries, which we still await to be digitalised.
After his passing, amongst his papers were found two papers on Sandhi in Pāḷi. These were subsequently published in one paper in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society.
This is the only comprehensive study of the subject, so I have recently transcribed and updated this work and now published it on Ancient Buddhist Texts. I am hoping this will be of benefit to students of the language.
I have added an introduction, which gives an outline of the much easier and consistently applied Sanskrit rules on sandhi. I have also added a A Summary List of the Rules.
