I have now prepared a portable edition of the GoldenDict-ng application with several dicitonaries pre-installed for the serious student of Pali and Sanskrit. Ease of use has been a guiding principle, and basically all you have to do is download and unpack the zipfolder, and run the application (GoldenDict.exe), and everything should work out of the box. Note that the download is quite large: 450MB, and only works with Windows.
The dictionaries included:
Digital Pali Dictionary by Ven Bodhirasa.
Pali Grammar by Ven Bodhirasa.
Pali Deconstructor by Ven Bodhirasa.
Concise Pali-English Dictionary by Ven Buddhadatta (modified somewhat).
Pali-English Dictionary by Rhys-Davids and Stede.
Dictionary of Pali by Margaret Cone.
Critical Pali-English Dictionary by V. Trenckner, et al.
Buddhist Hybrid Sanskrit Dictionary by Edgerton.
Sanskrit-English Dictionary by Monier-Williams.
Dictionary of Pali Proper Names by Malalasekera.
English WordNet 3.0 (Eng-Eng).
You can select or deselect any of the dictionaries, and can add others in also. The dictionaries are located in the /content/ folder, and they are selected/deselected from the Edit item on the menu bar.
Note that the dictionaries by Ven Bodhirasa are being updated monthly, and new editions can be had from https://github.com/digitalpalidictionary/digitalpalidictionary/releases. The current releases are June 2024. It also possible that other dictionaries will be added and/or updated in the future.
