A couple of weeks ago I published the text and translation of the Sanskritised Prakrit collection of Dhammapada-type verses, the Udānavarga. That was complete with a segmented grammatical analysis, Pāḷi parallels, an extensive commentary and auxiliary works.
Today I am publishing the simplified translation, which leaves out the analysis, the parallels and much of the commentary, to just give a good read of the text and translation, which has over 1,000 verses, and is the first to be made direct from the Sanskrit.
Although a lot of the verses are known to the Pāḷi tradition, also quite a lot are not, maybe 250 or more, so if you only know the Pāḷi texts, this can help make you familiar with verses, which are also orthodox, but outside the Pāḷi canon.
