Uposatha Calendar 2012/2556

Posted on January 5, 2012February 22, 2012 by Ānandajoti

Reciting Kammavaca
Reciting Kammavaca
from Upāli Thein, Bagan, Myanmar

there is an extra month (adhikamāsa) in the calendar this year
because of this and their own individual calculations as to where it falls
Vesak will be on 5th May in Sri Lanka and Myanmar
but on June 4th in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos

Sri Lanka has the Āsāḷha Full Moon Day on Aug 1st and enters Vassāna on Aug 2nd
and all dates are one day ahead of this calendar from there on
(Aug 16th, Aug 31st, Sep 14th, etc.)

Thanks for the 2012 calendar – … but we’re heading for 2013… any chance of an Uposatha calendar from 1/1/13 ?

Hi Hugo, yes one is just coming, but I am waiting for updates from different traditions. Meanwhile the 2012 calendar takes you up to the end of Hemanta, so you should be Ok for a month or two yet.
