Henri van Zeyst, for some time known as Bhikkhu Dhammapāla, is often referred to as the forgotten Theravādin. While he was active, mainly in Sri Lanka from 1938-1969, he was a very popular teacher, whose reach was very wide and influential, and for good reason as he had a sure grasp of the teaching and was able to simply explain often complex teachings.
We have published around 25 of Henri’s books previously, and now, following a trip to Sri Lanka by Manfred Wierich, we are able to publish another five to add to those. The new books are Broadcasts on Buddhism, Burning Questions, Fetters, Physics and Metaphysics and The Cultural Evolution of Buddhism.
I do hope more people will explore this Archive so that Henri’s life work can be revived as it surely deserves. And for the dwindling number of people who knew him while he was alive, hopefully this will provide more food for thought.
