I recently prepared a page with links to the whole Suttapiṭaka. While working on that I noticed that the links to the Jātaka were very unsatisfactory, as the link to the Pāḷi text goes only to the canonical verses (not the stories), and the translation is rather poorly presented on Sacred Texts.
I have therefore been working on and off for the past few weeks on preparing a new edition of the Jātaka-aṭṭhakathā, or commentary, which I can self host and redirect links there.
At first I have re-presented the Burmese version of the text. The reasons for doing this and what it entailed are told in the Preface to the new edition, and do not need repeating here.
For the moment only the Pāḷi text is ready, but I have plans to work on the English translation, though that is quite a lot of work, and may take a few months to get ready.
Meanwhile I hope this improves access to this very important text for the many students around the world.
Thanks for this, just to let you know the download of the 2899 pages long PDF went just fine, it is now safely secure on my desktop in Australia !
