Last year I posted 9 albums of photographs from Pakistan of Gandhāran sites and artworks. The photographs were taken by Dr. Leow Chai Yee, a Harvard scholar working on narrative art at Buddhist sites. Now Chai Yee has also photographed some of the artworks held in the Musée Guimet in Paris, France.
This includes not just friezes, reliefs and stucco works, but also whole stūpas which were taken away from their original sites, and are shown in the museum. There are some very fine relief works, and also some interesting stucco sculptures.
There are 45 photos in all, arranged thematically, and it is a good addition to the other photographs in this section from the Peshawar and Hund Museums.
