I lived in Sri Lanka for around 15 years in all, but it was only when I came to SE Asia that I started photographing historical and archeological sites.
Later I very much regretted that I hadn’t done anything to record the temple murals and architecture while in Sri Lanka.
So I was very happy when recently I was contacted by Dr. Rolf Heinrich Koch, a German scholar who has himself been doing some of that work, and he has very kindly agreed to post some of his photographs in the Guests section of my Photo Dharma website.
Dr. Koch has a number of websites containing his work which are linked to from his main site. His work is written up in German, but if you need to, you can send the pages to Google Translate and have them translated.
A selection of his the photographs are published on Photo Dharma under the title Murals and Statues in Sri Lankan Temples. I very much hope you enjoy them.
