The True Size Of Africa

Posted on January 2, 2011April 21, 2011 by Ānandajoti

True-Size-of-Africa-Thumb

I traveled in Africa in the 80s, it took around 4 months to cross from the north-west (Morocco) to central (Cameroon) to the east coast (Kenya). I have always found it difficult to get across to people who haven’t been there just how BIG Africa is. Recently I came across this infographic by Kai Krause. It was posted on the Information is Beautiful website, though it is not made by them.

As it is released into the public domain I have changed the format around a little and omitted some of the more technical information. Hope it gives my readers a better idea of the sheer vastness of the continent.

We should have more Africans in the world than Chinese.
