Bhante Anandajoti: The Perfection of Generosity

Posted on September 20, 2010May 3, 2020 by Ānandajoti

AnandajotiHere is another Saturday Dāna talk on the subject of Generosity. This time I look at it from the point of view of the role it plays in the Perfections (Pāramī). It was recorded earlier in the month at the Vivekavana office in Berapit. The audio quality is poor, but better than previous talks, and it runs for 15 minutes.

I only mention the first of the Perfections, but for reference I present the whole list here:

  1. Dānapāramī – The Perfection of Generosity
  2. Sīlapāramī – The Perfection of Virtue
  3. Nekkhammapāramī – The Perfection of Renunciation
  4. Paññāpāramī – The Perfection of Wisdom
  5. Viriyapāramī – The Perfection of Energy
  6. Khantipāramī – The Perfection of Forbearance
  7. Saccapāramī – The Perfection of Truth
  8. Adhiṭṭhānapāramī – The Perfection of Determination
  9. Mettāpāramī – The Perfection of Friendliness
  10. Upekhāpāramī – The Perfection of Equanimity
