A New Reading of my Dhammapada Translation

In 2017 I finished a first translation into English of the Patna Dhammapada. That translation reflected back on my much earlier translation of the Pāḷi Dhammapada, and I updated the latter into a 2nd edition at that time.

One of the consequences of that was the audio recording of the 1st edition didn’t match the 2nd edition, so I had to take it offline. It was intention at the time to make a new recording, but I never found time.

About a year ago someone who was inspired by the translation contacted me and asked if she could record it, an opportunity I jumped at, as a sample she provided was really clear and fluent.

Although English is her second language, Santisukhā’s reading is very attractive and well-measured, and I am sure this will prove to be a great help to people who want to listen to, rather than read, the text.

It is also possible to do both though as it is also embedded on the translation website. If you like the recording please leave comments which I am sure will encourage her to make more works of a similar nature.

    A great contribution indeed Bhante.
I prefer to follow the audio version rather than read the text.

Santisukhā’s Voice is pleasurable to listen to. One can also feel she enjoys reading, plus she is familiar with Content of the Readings. For me personnally, i think reading is better to process the Informations in the Brain, but also on other Days, it can be a bit tiring for the Brain and then listening to Santisukhā’s Light Voice makes it easy to process and easy to focus on just listening.

Voice is light to listen to and its pleasrubale to listen. On Days when the Brain is tired to process Information from reading the Text, its an easy Way to listen to Dharma Text and digest the Information
